On Deck
I don't have any July suggestions, come on guys! Let's keep this feature going!
I bet you wonder how all those things are connected. Well, they aren't, lol, but that's what I have to talk about, so in order...
We went cherry picking at the
Krizenesky Orchard in Emmett and got Bing, Rainier, and Royal Ann (also called Napoleon, the kind used to make maraschino) cherries. I took some pictures with my tiny quick cam (since I forgot my digital cam but the tiny one is always in my laptop bag, and we'd gone to the orchard directly from work.)It was my daughter's first time picking anything, lol, and my first time picking cherries, so we had a grand old time (it was shortly before I got strep throat, lol.) We ate most of them as-is, but we're going to bake the rest into a pie and some
empanadas Sunday before they spoil. We ended up picking about five pounds, lol. When we got home, I took some awesome pictures of them in the basket altogether, and then in bowls separated by kind. My knucklehead cat had to stick his big nose in a couple of shots. Some of them are stock photos, others are macros that are too good to give up as stock, lol. Keep an eye out for them, both in this account and in my
stock account. I'll probably also be uploading them to

Early yesterday morning, my daughter and husband heard a loud noise, and my husband thought it was the cat jumping up at the wall trying to catch a moth. When we woke properly, we realized a baby bird was trapped inside our gas heater! There's a vent with a mushroom shaped cover on the roof, and a bird family built a nest there. I guess he couldn't see well in the dark of predawn, and tumbled all the way down the shaft of the vent. We opened the heater as best we could, taking off all the covers we could remove without messing with the heater itself, and left for a few hours. When we came back, we found him huddled in the darkest corner of my bedroom, and he only broke one candle holder in his escape (nothing of his!) He looked hale and hardy, so I got a handkerchief and took him carefully outside, where my husband put him in a tree (we avoided touching him with our bare hands, so his mom would take him back.) We heard him in the tree this morning, but he has since flown off. Yay, we are birdy savers!

A couple of days ago, I bought a JEEP! It's a 2006 Wrangler, leather interior, cd/stereo with detachable faceplate, aluminum alloy wheels and permanently attached sideboards. It has glass windows for the doors, canvas top, Auto Theft Recovery System, and it's an automatic! My mom said she'd never heard of a Jeep that wasn't standard, lol. I've never driven one before this week, and it was so wild to drive it for the first time! The steering is so touchy, they put a warning in the sun visor telling drivers to avoid excessive speed or sharp maneuvers, lol! I love driving it, and my daughter tries to come up with any and every excuse to ride.
Finally, there's New Years. No, not January 1st, not Chinese or even Jewish New Year, but Mary Kay New Years! Some of you may know that I am a Mary Kay Senior Consultant, and our fiscal year ended June 30th. We have weekly success events every Monday, and this coming monday is our New Years Party! We're supposed to dress as formal as we own, bring our husbands, and party like crazy, lol. So I'll be changing my hair color early this year, to the black and pink, in time for the party. This also means a new dev ID is on the way, lol, be on the look out. Oh, and if you need a Mary Kay consultant, Note me! I can ship to anywhere in the continental US. I'll have my website up soon, stay tuned!

EDIT: Regular commission packages are taking a backseat to my special "Bike-a-thon" fundraising packages. If you are uninterested in purchasing any of those packages, you are of course welcome to commission me for something I regularly offer at the regular rates.
